San Diego Chili Queso Dog

RWOP keeps us pretty busy...if not with contests, our community involvement with each other.  Next weekend, we're doing a group video called Cooking Across America.  The California hostess chose a "gourmet hot dog" theme, so I shot a really short video for my San Diego Chili Queso Dog.  I used lots of fresh San Diego fusion ingredients and came up with a low-fat, taco-style chili dog.  This is a messy one, so if you try it...wear a bib!

Prep Time:  10 minutes / Cook Time: 10 minutes / Servings: 6 dogs
Ingredients:
  • 1 can of fat-free turkey chili
  • 5 oz. (1/2 tub) Philadelphia Cooking Creme, Santa Fe Blend
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican Cheese
  • 1/2 cup salsa fresca
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 6 low-fat all beef hot dogs, grilled
  • 6 flour tortillas
Steps:
  1. Warm the tortillas on a grill or gas burner until soft and slightly browned.
  2. Spoon some of the chili into the center of the tortilla.  Place the hot dog on top of the chili.
  3. Top the hot dog with cilantro, cheese, avocado and salsa.
  4. Wrap the hot dog with the tortilla like a burrito and enjoy!
